Subdivision
Divide a lot into parts of a given area. Cut it with lines parallel to a bearing, with a line through a corner or any point you name, or take a strip off one side by line offset. Each new lot comes back with its corners, courses and area, closed exactly, ready to carry into the technical description.
1. The parent lot
The courses are closed by the compass rule before they are split. Compute the traverse first if you want the transit rule or least squares.
2. How to divide it
The new line runs parallel to the course. The strip between the two is the first lot, for example a road widening, an easement or a setback.
Choose how to divide the lot, then compute. The lots, their courses and a plot appear here.
